"You Are Either Listening to the
Lord or to Satan"
Acts 16:14-23
1)
There is a woman controlled by others. Verse 16
The women made money for their masters. She was controlled by the men and had to
do what
they wanted in order for them to profit.
Do need to be controlled by others, but by the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
2)
There were men consumed by money. Verse 19
The woman was healed and when she was, it cut into the profits of her masters.
The men
were not interested in Paul and Silas preaching Jesus, only the money they were
losing.
If more pastors were more financially stable, then they would not be dictated to
by the church
as to what to preach. Pastors financially stable are free to preach the Word of
God without
worry as to what the church may do.
3)
There was a mob coerced by a few people. Verses 21-22
It just took a little stirring up and then there was the mob mentality. The mob
really did not
know what was going on, they just joined in.
4)
There were the Apostles that were consistent with the Gospel. Verse 17
They preached in front of demon possessed people and they did not care.
It did NOT matter, they preached Jesus no matter what the situation.
We question--Why can't we be like everyone else?
We need to be
different and preach and teach Jesus.
If we are serving ourselves, then we are hindering the work
of Jesus.
Which person are we in the groups above????
