"Where Am I In All This"
John 1:35-42

 

I.     Notice that John points to the  favored   one . (vs. 35-36)

            John had already mentioned this in verse 29.
            Everything is all about Jesus. We are all disciples of Jesus.
            John was selfless. What are we?
            If we are selfless, then we do what is best for the Church, because it is Jesus that matters.
            How much sacrifice have we offered for the Kingdom of God?
            We must follow and point to Jesus.
 

                                      
II.    Jesus becomes the  followed   one  . (vs. 37-39)

           Followed Jesus in an investigative way. Wanted to see if Jesus was who He said He was.
           Are we living in a manner where we can be followed or watched?
           How are we living?
 
                   

III.    Andrew and John make a  finding  . (vs. 41)

            They had found the Anointed and Holy One.
            Have we found Him or are we playing Church?
            Do we truly believe that we are nothing without Jesus?

IV.    Notice Andrew's  follow  through. (vs. 41)

            Andrew found someone he cared about to share with him.
            We must share Jesus with others and follow through.
            We must always be sharing.

V.    Notice Peter's  foundation  to the man he would be. (vs. 42)

            This did not occur until Peter met Jesus.
            We will not become what we are to be until we meet Jesus!
            We need to become known for who we are--we are one of Jesus' disciples.
            We will be acceptable for who we are in Christ Jesus.
