"There Are Men to be Caught"
Luke 5:1-10

We are here to reach people for Christ, then to disciple them and then to go out for service.

Verse 1--The people pressed up close to Him to hear the Word of God.

Verse 10--Jesus called upon them to fish for men instead of fish. Our desire should be sharing Christ
                    with others.

Let's take a look at the men. They were men of:

    1)    Profession - These men's profession were fishermen.
God plants us where He wants us to minister. Our workplaces have become our place to
                    minister.
Sadly, our churches have become professional churches. A lot of our churches have become
professional entertainers, not professional fishers of men. People come to be entertained
and not to hear the Word of God.

    2)    Perception - They knew what they were doing. They were very good at their profession of fishing.

    3)    Possessions - The men had all they that they needed to fish. We have all we need to fish for
men. We do not need all the "things" that are being offered in churches today to "draw a
                crowd.

    4)    Place - They had and knew the place where the fish were and they could catch them.
Just like them, we have fish (men) all around us. We need to go and get them.

    5)    Purity - They were keeping their nets clean.
We need to clean our "nets" or in other words, our lives. People are always watching us, so
we need to keep our lives clean.

    6)    Persistence - They stayed at it. It did not matter whether they were catching anything or not, they
                    stayed at it all night.
The ones that are hungry for the things of God, the more we love to fish for men.

I.    The catch must never determine the commitment.
If we go out on EE on Monday nights and do not have person saved, we must keep going on.
Our level of commitment is not dependent on how many people come to know the Lord.

II.    Observation must never diminish the proclamation.
No matter what we observe with others, we must keep fishing!

III.    Success must never be Superior to the Savior.

            1)    The boat in this scripture that caught the fish could have been Prideful. It is easy to become
prideful when we have success. We must guard against this and always keep the Savior
                        Superior.

            2)    The boat that didn't catch the fish could have Pouted.
They could have quit, but they helped the others. We need to get excited when others
catch fish. Be thankful for the catch into the Kingdom of God.

            3)    They forsook their boats and followed Jesus. (vs. 10)
They abandoned what they knew how to do best to follow Jesus and to become Fishers
                                of Men!

THERE SHOULD BE A FIRE IN OUR BONES! LET US BE CONSISTENT FISHING FOR MEN!
