"Is This the Real Thing?"
Matthew 11:1-2

I want us to see this morning what it was that caused John to ask this question.
 

I.    First of all notice that John had a difficult  ministry.

            (Matt. 3:4)--John was wondering if I did all this, did he do it for the real thing. 

II.    Second of all see that John had a  direct  message. 

            A. His message was one of  repentance . (Matt. 3:2)
                    John preached his message with no compromise.

            B. His message was one of  rebuke .

                    1) He rebuked the  religious  leaders. (Matt. 3:7-12)
                            It made no difference who he was speaking to, he just spoke the truth.

                    2) He rebuked the  royal  leaders. (Matt. 14:3-4)

III.    Third of all we see John had a  drained   mind . (Matt. 11:3)
                John was drained emotionally. John did not mind what he had done, but was it for the
                    right reason.

IV.    Jesus affirmed John with a  declarative  message . (Matt. 11:4-10)
