"Is It Work or Worship?"
Mark 14:3-9; Matthew 26:6-13; John 12:1-8

Three Constance of Brokenness
Brokenness = Worship

I.    There are the   results  of brokenness.

                A.    There is the  aroma  of worship. (John 12:3)
Mary broke the flask. There was no turning back. By breaking the flask she was not
expecting to save any of the contents. She poured out everything she had for Jesus.

                            -True worship fills the house.
Fragrance of Worship. Spirit bearing witness to witness.

-It can not be manufactured or manipulated.
The Holy Spirit prompts Worship. No person can do this.

-It cannot be imitated or enticed.

                B.    There is the  allegation  of wasting. (Mark 14:3-5)
If you are truly are worshipping, then you do not care what others say.

                C.    There is the  acceptance  as worthy. (Mark 14:6)
If we are pleasing God, do not worry about whether we please others or not.

II.    There is the  response  to brokenness. (Matt. 26:8-9)
Worship or brokenness is not what we have, but because of the presence of the Lord.

III.    There is the  representation  of brokenness. (John 12:1-8)

              A.    In Martha worship is represented through  work  . (vs. 2)
Martha worshipped the Lord through her giftedness and we should also.

              B.    In Mary worship is represented through  wealth . (vs. 3)
Mary poured out a year's worth of wages which is a huge chunk, but it was not too much to
                            give to the Lord.

              C.    In Lazarus worship is represented through  witnessing . (vs. 9)
Came to see what the Lord had done for Lazarus--Jesus raised him from the dead.

Are we looking for what is in it for us or What we can give to Him??
