"Eventful Endings"
Luke 16:19-31

Five things we need to pay attention to.

 

I.    Pay attention to their  wealth  fortune . (vs. 19-20)            

            What might be on surface is not what might be in the boat.
            We need to lay our treasures in Heaven.
            We are who we are ONLY because of Jesus.
            We shouldn't become haughty thinking we are better than those that are different from us.
 

                                      
II.    Pay attention to their  following .

III.    Pay attention to their  faith . (vs. 22)

            They had faith that separated where they ended up.

 

IV.    Pay attention to their  future . (vs. 26)

            Lazarus, unlike the rich man, asked for nothing. He was completely satisfied.

V.    Pay attention to the  focus . (vs. 27-30)

            The focus of the dead, rich man--He had no hope at all. There was no hope for him, but there
                    was hope for his brothers. He wanted them to have what he did not.
            Vs. 30 shows that he was focusing on the dying.

            We need to make a heart decision and not a head decision. We must be convicted by the Holy
                    Spirit.

            We must be faithful to share and then faithful to pray for the ones we share with.
