"A Woman Seeking God"
I Samuel 1:26-28
Mother of Samuel, Hannah, was seeking God.

I.    There is the  petition  of a woman seeking God. (I Samuel 1:10-11)

Sometimes our petitions are..."If you give me this God, then I will do this".
We cannot make deals with God.
Hannah was praying from a bitterness from being wounded.

The problem was that Hannah's husband had 2 wives.
What he did drove Hannah to bitterness, because the other wife could bare children.
This put Hannah in a position to petition God even before there was a child.

If everyone would petition God for their children, there would be no more murdering of babies in the
                womb.

Pray for your children no matter where they are in life.

II.    There is the  proclamation  of a woman seeking God. (I Samuel 1:26-28)

In verse 27, Hannah said, "...for this child I have prayed...". We should pray and claim the victory
in Jesus Christ before the victory comes, just as Hannah did.

Never be ashamed to pray for your children.

Don't proclaim your prayer for your children if you are not in God's will.

In verse 28, Hannah dedicated or returned the child to God. She was giving back to God what was
already His. We should give everything back to God, because it is His already.

III.     There is the  praise  of a woman seeking God. (I Samuel 2:1-11)

This is Hannah's prayer before she left her son.

The bulk of the prayer is that righteousness (Hannah) prevailed over evil (Nun, who was the second
                wife).

When righteousness wins over evil, we should always rejoice.

IV.    There is the  provision  of a woman seeking God. (I Samuel 2:19)

Hannah brought a coat to Samuel every year. Hannah made sure that her son was equipped to serve
                the Lord.

Don't support your child if he/she is out of the will of God.
We need to help to provide for those that are seeking God.
Don't help your child be a rebel, but to do the work of the Lord.

Don't "undo" ungodliness with ungodliness, but "undo" ungodliness with righteousness.
